AJ Jacobs, Malibu :: 02.11

Testing with Model/Actor AJ Jacobs in Malibu last month was a complete “fluke”.  I met AJ during my test with model/actor/band member Rich Banker at their place in Studio City while Rich was changing looks.  Clearly AJ is a gorgeous man, but what I didn’t know is that AJ’s also a big deal.  He’s modeled Internationally in major markets like Milan, L.A., and NY for Gucci and Ralph Lauren (just to name a few), but not until our drive from Hermosa to Malibu did I truly get to know what makes him a big deal.  AJ is the definition of a modern day Renaissance man.  He’s gifted in music, acting, cooking, and baseball (he received multiple scholarship offers around the country)….yes, he’s done all of this and more in just one lifetime.  Though he’s got lots of interesting stories to tell, the best part of AJ is how down to earth and extremely funny he is;  not bad for a 21 year old.  Yes that’s right, I said 21…! (It’s true, I saw his ID.)

Our session was incredible because I was collaborating with someone with a soul for art and style.  Together we created imagery full of intensity and style mixed with a touch of melancholy and empowerment.  A gorgeous private beach in Malibu, a simple mirror, and 2.5 looks was all it took to invite magic.  Check out a few of my favs…
