Boulder Mills, 10.10

In early October I collaborated with Boulder Designer Sascha Ayad of Boulder Mills and Erika Hutchings of Cry Baby Design to create innovative,  yet fresh photos for Sascha’s custom designed furniture.  For this shoot we focused on custom shelves for the home that serve a variety of purposes.  To communicate the shelves’ diversity, we created a variety of vinyettes.  Sascha arrived at Howard Sokol’s studio with (literally) a truckload of bags from Target to do just this. (Go big, go home I guess… :) )   After only a couple of hours in studio, we created some very sophisticated and diverse photographs that really display his work in stylish way.

Thank you again Sascha for a wonderful collaboration!  I hope that 2011 is a very successful year for you and your work.

These shots are super pro and look like they came right out a Crate and Barrel catalogue for custom shelving. But the one that gets me is the small box/shelf with the two pairs of boots! Seriously, I want to know the people who own those boots. There’s a story in the this photo. Who are these funky cool people that create little houses for their funky cool rain boots? Love it!

This was such a cool shoot. Collaborating with Erika Hutchings as Creative Director and Client/Designer Sascha Ayad was a ton of fun. Everyone was very professional and I think enjoyed bringing their creativity to the set to create some pretty fabulous shots of Sascha’s shelves. Ones that I think market his work in a fantastic way.
