Where do I begin on this wedding? The humility and beauty of the bride, the connection and intimacy of the entire bridal party, the vibrancy of Nawlens, the music….the second line….. I honestly don’t know where to begin. All I can say is that this wedding was filled with the Spirit of intimacy, love, and simple goodness. All day as I was photographing Ryan and Laura’s marriage, I was overwhelemed with the sense that this is indeed a day to celebrate. Without further adieu, I’ll control my ramblings and let you experience my experience at Laura & Ryan’s wedding on a hot Sunday afternoon in June.
The Groomsmen surprised the Groom by washing his feet and saying blessings and prayers over him before he saw Laura.
The wave, gone bad.
Yes those are swastikas on the floor… we were confused too.
Laura’s brothers testing Ryan to make sure he’s “fit” for Laura.
Ahhhh relief– we were worried…
Here comes the beautiful bride….

Intimate communion ceremony before they said their vows.
Whoever said that white people can’t dance, clearly has not meet Ryan’s West Virginia family… amazing.
Laura and I breaking it down!
Welcome to an Infrickencredible Nawlens tradition: the Second line. A tuba, a trumpet, a trombone, a bass drum, + a crowd of people traveling from the reception to the bride and groom’s hotel… NOLA knows how to do it right.
Watch out construction workers! Do NOT interfere with Rosa’s second line.. you are in BIG trouble.
Thank you Laura and Ryan for inviting me to share in your “most excellent day.” Much love and many blessings to you both…. enjoy Cali!
