Mamaw Nell, Arkansas :: 07.10

I flew down to Little Rock on an impromptu shoot last month with my Dear friend Stacey Banks, model/pilot, as stylist.  Mamaw Nell is 90 years old and is a Southern Woman with much grace and charm.  I only spent a little less than 24 hours with her, yet her beauty and grace have deeply impacted me.  “He makes life beautiful,” she says….

Wow.

Mamaw Nell, you will never know how deeply your words and prayers have touched me… thank you for reflecting His beauty.  I see Him so clearly through you.

It’s amazing how our beauty not only changes us, but others as well…

    Hi,
    I’m one of Nell’s grandchildren and one of Stacey’s cousins. Nell died yesterday afternoon. My wife and I left Little Rock for California when my oldest daughter was 2. She’s five now and we’ve since had another. When I went home to tell my wife and two girls that “Mamaw” had died, I first found the link to this post and pulled it up so that I could remind the little ones who I was talking about while breaking the news.

    Thank you for taking the time to do this shoot and for doing it with such empathy and care. The photos mean a lot to me and I suspect they will continue to.
