Karen Briggs, San Francisco 05.10

Karen is a South Carolina native that had moved back to Charleston in 2006 from NYC when we became housemates.   Karen has always struck me as a refined, intelligent, and elegant woman with a definite streak of adventure + a confidence and depth that is rarely found in someone of her age.  We eventually found a great antebellum home located in the heart of Charleston’s downtown, surrounded by brick streets and complete with a big front porch and a white picket fence; it was the perfect spot for parties and “family nights”.  (I love the South!)   At the time I was living with Karen I was going through some difficult times and was making some pretty big life decisions.  Karen spoke words of confidence and encouragement to me (not to mention we had some pretty fun moments as well), but most of all it was the poise, beauty, and confidence that Karen carried for herself that influenced me so greatly at that time.

Here are a few shots I captured of Karen during our surprise “re-union” in San Francisco last weekend.  I feel the photos are truly reflective of the poised and beautiful person that I see Karen to be.

Thank you Karen.

These shots are beautiful. They need to be an add in Interview magazine for some top designer lace lingerie. She looks like a Victorian with modern sexiness! Old and young, wise and innocent all at the same time. Great contrast, Jennger! My favorite is actually the first one with the parasol.
