Stories.

find_art_south_0014As I travel through life I find that I acquire a greater sense of awe about the natural world and people’s lives.  When I was younger, I connected energetically and emotionally to almost any person, place or thing.  In the spiritual world they call me a hypersensitive, in the intellectual world they call me an INFJ, and in the social world, they call me sensitive.   When I got older I began to shut down my intense ability to feel and connect with my world and began to live primarily out of my head.  I knew so much back then–(ha!)– actually, I remember saying to myself when I graduated from high school, “Wow- I’m really so wise already, what else is there for me to learn?”

Much.

The older I get the more humble I become as I move through this very large, beautiful and complex world with my eyes wide open.  As I’ve evolved into who I am today I’ve found it essential to connect both my head and my heart, while living life primarily out of my heart.  Life is truly about connection, at every stage and level.

People continuously blow me away.  xalbums_0902_lulu_fot_08_0002

I cannot wrap my mind around the infinite beauty that each and every person holds.  The complexities of each person’s story, their experience in this world with their families, their passions, their hearts and minds, and their lovers is almost too much for me to take.  This richness that I see is what led me to photography in the first place because its the only tangible way I know to fully capture the present moments of our lives as they occur.   It’s such a privilege to get to know my subject’s stories and to connect their external world with their spiritual and emotional worlds through the lenses of my camera.

Thank you to each person who has shared their story with me.   By doing so, you’ve shaped and enhanced my own story in words unspeakable.
